Research and Planning stage:
Through out these tasks i have been using a range of new media technologies, listed above, i feel that without these 'new technologies' i wouldnt have been able to create my tasks. To start off with i began using You Tube within the planning stages as this gave me a range of ideas of what i could do within my own trailer. Also this helped know what types of horror convetions were more effective and which ones werent as effective. You tube really helped me gather a lot of resecrah and ideas for my project and it helped me bring ideas to my group so that we could come up with a final idea. During the planning stages we created questionnaires i word processed the questions and handed them out within my class as they related to my age range of 15+. I then put the questionnaire on the website Survey Monkey, as i thought that this would give us a good age range and a good range of people could take the questionnaire. I also put the questionnaire on Facebook, this gave us a range of answers from the same age group as we intend.
Construction stage:
Click on this image to see my brief flickr analysis of final cut pro:
This is a screen shot of the Final Cut Pro software that i used to create my trailer. I have analysed it so that you can see what i used during the making of my trailer and how we achieved this. I feel our trailer wouldnt be as affective if we didnt use this particular software as it was very easy to understand yet really profeesional.
Then we began using a HD video camera to record our trailer clips. To arrange these clips we used the software Final Cut Pro. This software was only available to us through an Apple Mac computer. Final Cut Pro was a good software to use for editing our trailer and piecing it together. To create our Production and distribution company names i created them on Photoshop as this gave me a larger range of text and effects that i could use. I also used the website Da' font as it gave me different effects that i could use on the text. After finishing the trailer we made magazine covers and film posters using Photoshop. I made mine on Photoshop because i feel this software is the best for creating anything. To research magazine covers and film posters i used Google. This helped me understand what they looked like and the features that were on them. Then i had to post all my work to my Blogger blog so that it could be seen by many people. To get the images for my magazine and film poster i took images using a digital SLR camera so that i could get the best quality within my photographs.
Evaluation Stage:
During the evaluation stage i have been using a range of new technologies so that i can achieve my work in the best possible way. I have been using the Wordle online software because i feel that this makes a really nice interesting effect to words and shows them in unique ways. I also have been using Photoshop to make Montages and Film Stills. To analysis my film stills i used Flickr, i fink Flickr a really nice site to use as you can add little notes in interesting ways instead of one big block of text.
I feel that during the this whole project i have found it really easy to overcome most of the tasks as thoughout each of the stages i had use web 2.0. I feel without being able to use the interenet it wouldnt have give me a very good understanding of what film trailers actually got across to the audience. Also i feel that i has helped me gather together a lot of information for the research really quickly and effectively.
This is a good start but it needs more development. The question asks you to consider the research and planning stage, the construction stage, and the evaluation stage. It would be a good idea to do this stage by stage. You definitely need more on Final Cut Pro, which is industry standard software and which was vital to the construction of your project. I would like to see a screenshot with annotations about particular aspects of the program that you found useful in generating your trailer. Also you need to discuss the advantages and disadvantages of using web 2.0 applications such as blogger when you are evaluating your work. Compare this way of working to all the more traditional ways. Which do you prefer and why? You do not have too go with the new technology route if you don't think it is as good. It's up to you but what you do need to do is consider the issues and reflect upon them.
